Acting Commissioner of Police (ACOP) Darrin Simons congratulated Inspector Emmerson Carrington on being selected to umpire the ICC Under 19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2022, which will be staged in the West Indies from January 14th to February 5th.
ACOP Simons said, “The Bermuda Police Service is proud of the achievements of our colleague Emmerson Carrington.
A young person’s regular involvement in sports helps to make her/him more resilient to gang and other criminal activity. We encourage and support our staff to make a difference in the community by being involved in local sports.
Carrington is well known for his contributions to the development of the sport of cricket locally. Now, the rest of the world will be able to benefit from his vast experience and wealth of knowledge of the “Gentleman’s game” at the upcoming ICC U-19 tournament.
