The Western Counties Cricket Association (WCCA) in conjunction with host Southampton Rangers Sports Club is pleased to announce that the 2022 Western Counties Cricket Competition will be held at the Southampton Oval. After a thrilling series in 2021, which saw the cup change hands four times, the Western Counties Executive are anticipating another year of good entertaining cricket. Cup holders Southampton Rangers will be kicking off the series against challengers Somerset Bridge on July 2nd 2022 beginning at 11am.
The WCCA has been existence for over 50 years and this will signal the return of Western Counties to the Southampton Rangers facility after 2 years of a global pandemic. The Southampton Rangers family are excited to be this year’s host and are keen on ensuring great series!
President Teresa Burrows said, “The Western Counties Cricket Association is pleased to be able to commence our 2022 series which will be hosted at the Southampton Rangers Sports Club. We are hoping for an exciting and thrilling series similar to that of 2021. We are encouraging all to come out and support the players and clubs while showing your love to the Western Counties Cricket Association. Also, we would like to thank Arm & Hammer (BGA), Butterfield & Vallis, Barritt’s and numerous other sponsors who have helped with ensuring this year’s series is a success”.

· Round 1 (Saturday, July 2nd): Southampton Rangers vs Somerset Bridge Recreation Club · Round 2 (Saturday, July 9th): Winner vs PHC · Round 3 (Saturday, August 6th): Winner vs Warwick Workmen’s Club · Round 4 (Saturday, August 20th): Winner vs Willow Cuts
The entry fee is as follows: $15 General Admission $10 Seniors Children under 12 Free All games start at 11am and spots are free.

Sluggo’s Angels 83/8 Hamilton Corporation 85/2
In the PRC Backyard Cricket League, the Hamilton Corporation defeated Sluggo’s Angels by 8 wickets.
Sluggo’s Angels won the toss and elected to bat, they scored 83/8 in their 15 overs, Chantel Oosthuizen was their top scorer with 29, which came off 36 balls, she hit 5 fours, Calvin Dill was the pick of the Hamilton Corporation bowlers returning figures of 3-0-7-2.
In reply, Hamilton Corporation scored 85/2, Jelani Carlington was their top scorr with 44 not out, he hit 8 fours and 1 six. Two Sluggo’s Angles bowlers grabbed a wicket each.
