Queensland Veterans Cricket are the hosts for the Inaugural Over 60s Cricket World Cup on Australia’s picturesque Sunshine Coast in September 2022.

The Sunshine Coast is approximately 90 minutes north of Brisbane, Queensland’s Capital City.
The state of Queensland has hosted many major events in the past, including Commonwealth Games, and now it is the Sunshine Coast’s turn to present another World Class Event, the Over 60’s Cricket World Cup. The dates of the Tournament are Friday, September 2nd, 2022 to Thursday, September 15th, 2022. The competition will be drawn from the ‘cream’ of the world’s cricket-playing nations, together with some additional teams from developing cricket countries.
12 Teams will be competing in the Event: The Hosts Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Wales, West Indies, USA, Zimbabwe, and the Rest of the World (primarily comprising English players).
The Tournament is to be played over 8 days with games at three of the Region’s most attractive and scenic playing venues, Maroochydore CC, Yandina CC, & Caloundra CC.
A Welcome Ceremony will commence proceedings on Friday, 2 September and all participants will be treated to great hospitality from the Alexandra Headlands Surf Life Savings Club, together with a ‘Welcome to the Country from the local indigenous people, and a lifesaving event & demonstration. The Tournament Closing Lunch & Presentations Event will round out the World Cup on Thursday, September 14th.
