Bermuda and the Somerset Cricket Club Cup Match team have been dealt a blow as Tre Manders will miss the Annual Cup Match Classic and Bermuda’s ICC Americas Region Twenty20 World Cup Qualifiers in Bermuda.
Rumors had been flying around that Manders was injured in an accident, with www.islandstats.com unwilling to report unconfirmed reports.
www.islandstats.com can confirm that Manders has undergone surgery for a broken ankle and torn ligaments.
Manders’ father Andre confirming, “Just letting you know that it's true that Tre was in bicycle accident and is definitely out of Cup Match and National Squad games coming up. He's very disappointed but it could've been worst.”
Meanwhile the Bermuda Cricket Board and One Communications announced the One Communications First Division players of the week for the weeks of June 29th & 30th and July 6th & 7th.
The One Communications First Division Player of the Week for June 29th and 30th was Joseph Basden from Willow Cuts, in the match against Western Stars Basden scored 43 not out and he took 4 wickets for 46 runs.
The One Communications First Division Player of the Week for July 6th and 7th was Jordan DeSilva from the Somerset Cricket Club in the match against Somerset Bridge, DeSilva scored 165 runs.
