Jimenez & Hibs’ Historic Unbeaten Run Ends

IslandStats.com
Logan Jimenez and his Hibernian Under-19 teammates saw their remarkable 22-match unbeaten league run come to a crashing halt as they fell to a narrow 1-0 defeat against Dundee United.

In a tense encounter at Foundation Park, Hibs commanded the lion's share of possession and goal-scoring opportunities, yet they were left to rue a lack of clinical finishing in the final third. The deadlock was eventually broken in the 79th minute when Jack Anderson produced an accurate strike to ensure all three points remained in Dundee.

The visitors started with intent and twice came agonizingly close to an opener in quick succession. Luke Davidson saw a 25-yard free-kick whistle just past the target before Logan Jimenez nearly produced a moment of magic, fizzing a well-taken effort narrowly over the crossbar from a challenging angle.

As the match progressed, Hibs began to exert even greater control over the tempo, but the breakthrough remained elusive. Jimenez was again at the heart of the action, firing wide during a frantic minute where the visitors launched wave after wave of attacks.

Despite the sustained pressure from the Edinburgh side, it was Dundee United who found the decisive blow late in the second half. Anderson’s composed finish left Hibs with little time to respond, marking their first league defeat in over 20 matches.

While the result brings an end to a historic streak, the performance of Jimenez and the young Hibs squad suggests they remain the team to beat as they look to bounce back in the championship race.

BFA Girls’ League Tournament 2026

IslandStats.com
The Bermuda Football Association’s Women’s Committee hosted the 2026 Girls’ League Tournament over two action-packed weekends, with 32 teams across four age groups competing at Bermuda College and Warwick Academy on March 7th and 14th.

The tournament showcased the growing depth of girls’ football in Bermuda, with competitive matches from the youngest Under 7 players right through to the Under 13 Divisions.

Week 1 — March 7th

The Under 7 Division at Bermuda College saw seven teams battle through a full Round Robin before the knockout rounds. Devonshire Lady Colts, only in their second year in the league, made a strong statement by powering through to the final with a 2-0 Semi-Final win over BHS Blue.

They faced WA Valencia, who overcame BHS Yellow in the other Semi-Final that went to a penalty shootout (3-2). In the final, DevonshireLady Colts held firm to win 1-0 and claim the Under 7 title — an impressive achievement for such a young programme.

Over at Warwick Academy, the Under 11 tournament featured two groups of five teams each, with the top two from each group advancing to the Semi-Finals. The final came down to BFLA Black and Warwick Football Academy (WFA) Manchester, and after a tightly contested match that finished level, WFA Manchester held their nerve in a penalty shootout to take the Under 11 crown.

Week 2 — March 14th

The Under 9 Division at Bermuda College produced another exciting day of football. Bascome Football Leadership Academy (BFLA) Blacks were dominant throughout, beating BFLA Reds 2-0 in an All-BFLA Semi-Final, while WFA Inter Milan edged past BHS Blue 2-1 in the other Semi-Final. In the final, BFLA Blacks saw off WFA Inter Milan 1-0 to take the Under 9 title.

The U13 division at Warwick Academy delivered the most drama of the tournament. Both Semi-Finals went to penalty shootouts, with BHS overcoming BFLA Reds and WA Independiente edging past BFLA Blacks from the spot.

In the final, BHS carried that momentum forward and beat WA Independiente 1-0 to be crowned Under 13 champions.

Bean-Fox Inspires Future Pro to Gritty Comeback Victory

IslandStats.com
Harlem Bean-Fox and his Future Pro teammates demonstrated remarkable character in the ECFA Premier League this week, staging a clinical second-half turnaround to defeat Brooke House College 2–1.

In a tale of two halves, the Future Pro side looked to be facing an uphill struggle after a difficult opening period. Brooke House College started the brighter of the two sides, exerting consistent pressure that eventually told on the scoreboard. By the time the referee blew for the interval, Future Pro found themselves trailing 1–0 and in desperate need of a tactical rethink.

Whatever was said in the dressing room during the break clearly struck a chord. Future Pro emerged for the second half looking like a transformed outfit, replacing the tentative play of the first period with a display defined by composure and tactical discipline.

Bean-Fox was central to this resurgence, helping his side wrestle back control of the midfield. The team's improved resilience allowed them to absorb Brooke House’s remaining threats while launching more calculated attacks of their own.

The persistence paid off as Future Pro overturned the deficit with two decisive goals. The more controlled approach after the restart not only blunted the opposition’s momentum but allowed Future Pro to dictate the tempo of the game until the final whistle.

The victory is being hailed as one of the team's most impressive performances of the season, specifically for the maturity shown in overcoming a halftime disadvantage. Claiming all three points in such a high-stakes league fixture provides a significant boost to their standing in the ECFA Premier League.

As they look ahead to their next fixture, the squad will take immense confidence from a performance that proved they have the mental fortitude to match their technical ability.

Jimenez & Hibs Cruise to Dominant Victory in Cup Clash

IslandStats.com
Logan Jimenez and his Hibernian teammates continued their impressive form in the CAS Elite U19 League Cup group stage, securing a clinical three-point haul with a dominant 3 - 0 victory over 10-man Motherwell.

Fresh from his exploits leading Bermuda during the CONCACAF Under-20 Qualifiers, Jimenez was straight back into the thick of the action at a saturated K-Park. Despite the treacherous, rain-soaked conditions, the Hibees put on a tactical masterclass, with goals from Zach Bruce, Luke Davidson, and Alisdair Burns ensuring a comfortable afternoon for the Edinburgh side.

Hibernian looked the more threatening side from the opening whistle, nearly capitalizing on a defensive lapse from the Motherwell backline. A poorly weighted backpass was intercepted by a sharp Jimenez just 25 yards from goal, momentarily leaving the visitors' defense exposed.

The Bermudian forward looked to catch the goalkeeper off his line with a clever, dinked effort, but Jack McConnell produced a vital save. The Motherwell shot-stopper made himself a formidable obstacle, narrowing the angle to thwart Jimenez and keep the scoreline level in the early exchanges.

However, the reprieve was short-lived. Hibernian’s relentless pressure eventually told as they broke through the Motherwell resistance. Once the opening goal arrived, the momentum shifted entirely in favor of the Hibees, particularly after Motherwell were reduced to ten men following a dismissal that left them struggling to contain the hosts' fluid attacking transitions.

The victory further solidifies Hibernian's position in the group stage, with the coaching staff likely delighted by the squad's ability to maintain high intensity despite the difficult weather. For Jimenez, the transition from international duty to domestic success appears seamless as he continues to be a focal point for the Hibs attack.

West Stage Late Comeback as Youth Shine at North Field

IslandStats.com
The National Sports Center North Field was a hive of activity as the island's premier showcase of youth football talent took center stage. In a joint initiative between the Bermuda School Sports Federation and the Department of Youth and Sport, the 2026 All-Star matches provided a high-octane platform for the next generation of Bermudian stars to demonstrate their clinical edge and technical growth.

The day began with a dominant display from the East in the Primary School girls' fixture, as they overwhelmed the West with a comprehensive six one victory. Molly Morton of Somersfield Academy was the standout performer, delivering a clinical hat-trick to lead her side to glory. The East's offensive pressure was further rewarded with goals from Rhiannon Rushe, Amira Whitter, and Myla Desjardins. Sofia Cooper managed a consolation for the West, but it was not enough to stem the tide. Tamera Smith earned MVP honors for the East, while Ava-Rose Richardson was recognized as the standout for the West.

The East’s momentum carried into the Middle School girls' match, though the contest proved far more balanced. Melah Rutherford ignited the East with an early first-half strike, only for Sandys Secondary standout Zaya Cann-Berkley to restore parity with a well-taken equalizer. In a cruel twist of fate for the West, a late own goal ultimately decided the encounter, handing the East a two one win. Both goalscorers, Rutherford and Cann-Berkley, were rightfully named MVPs for their respective sides in recognition of their tireless contributions.

However, the tides began to turn as the boys' divisions took the pitch. In the Primary School boys' match, the West secured a resolute three one victory, sparked by a magnificent long-range free kick from Declan O’Sullivan. Kash Butterfield doubled the advantage in the second half before Karter Riley effectively put the game out of reach. Maceo Hunt Woolridge clawed one back for the East late on, but the West remained firm. Defensive stalwart Royce Tyrrell was named MVP for the East, while Maze Darrell’s exceptional performance in goal earned him the MVP award for the West.

The evening concluded with the headline Senior School boys' match, where the West continued their winning streak with a hard-earned two one result. Jayden Smith provided an early breakthrough for the West, and Logan Viera doubled the lead shortly before the interval. The East found a glimmer of hope through a stunning long-range effort from Xave Smith, but the West defensive line held firm under sustained pressure to see out the win. The tireless work rate of midfielders Amir Weller and Kydan Browne did not go unnoticed, as both were honored with MVP awards to cap off a historic day for Bermudian school football.
