The Closing Ceremony of the Beijing Summer Olympic Games will be staged in Beijing on Sunday August 24, 2008.
The Bermuda Olympic Association wishes to announce the selection of Swimming athlete KIERA AITKEN to carry the Bermuda Flag at this ceremony.
Aitken is a two-time Olympian, having made her debut in the Athens games four years ago. In Beijing, she won her heat in the 100m Backstroke clipping almost two seconds off her own record for the event, and setting a new Bermuda Record in the process.
Aitken has also represented Bermuda Swimming in many International events including the Melbourne Commonwealth Games, where she qualified for the final of her primary event.
She is to be congratulated for very positive and mature approach to her sport, which continues to reap results and accolades for her performance.
