Motorists in Bermuda have been advised of traffic delays this weekend as the Bermuda Bicycle Association gears up for the VT Construction Road Race on Sunday, 27 September.
The event is scheduled to run between 07:30 am and approximately 10:30 am, bringing competitive cycling action to the roads across the morning.
Competitors will set off from South Road near Gulfstream Restaurant, which will also serve as the finish point.
The route will take the peloton east along South Road before a left turn onto St Paul’s Lane. From there, riders will take another left onto Middle Road, pressing on towards Barnes Corner before swinging back onto South Road to complete the circuit.
The Ministry of Public Works and Environment confirmed that roads will remain open throughout the morning, though road users should expect a strong presence of police officers and race marshals managing junctions and directing traffic along the course.
Drivers have been urged to exercise extra caution, adhere strictly to race marshal directions, and allow additional travel time, with the Ministry apologising in advance for any inconvenience caused.
