Tackling a fast and frantic circuit on stage two, the peloton set a blistering tempo from the gun. Morris was forced to dig deep through the tight corners and relentless accelerations, ultimately battling home to cross the line in 26th position, finishing 12 laps down on the leaders.
Stage honours went to James Ambrose-Parish, who produced a dominant, tactical ride to break away and claim victory in a swift one hour, one minute, and 23 seconds.
Despite the difficult day on the circuit, the stage provided another stern workout for Morris against a sharp regional field as the multi-day race progresses.
