Tariq Simons has been recalled to the Bermuda Davis Cup squad ahead of their historic World Group II tie this September, marking the solitary change to the side that secured qualification.
Simons joins the core unit that earned promotion, linking up with lead singles ace Daniel Phillips, Trey Mallory, Wayne Montgomery, and Zach McGuire under the guidance of long-serving national coach Ricky Mallory.
The inclusion of Simons bolsters Bermuda’s depth across both singles and doubles rubbers as the island prepares to test itself at the higher tier of international team tennis.
Phillips and Mallory are expected to carry the primary load in singles following their stellar qualifying campaign, with McGuire and Montgomery providing vital options as Bermuda looks to cause an upset on the global stage.
Coach Ricky Mallory will lead a squad brimming with collegiate and international experience, with preparations now shifting into the final phase ahead of the September tie.
"This is Team Bermuda, ready to represent our island at the Davis Cup World Group II," the team confirmed as the five-man selection was finalised.
