Bermuda secured a hard-fought sixth-place finish at the 2026 Rugby Americas North (RAN) Men’s Under-19 XVs Championship, despite falling to a narrow defeat against the Cayman Islands in a pulsating back-and-forth encounter.
In what proved to be one of the most entertaining fixtures of the tournament, both sides traded blows in a physical contest that saw momentum shift multiple times throughout the 70 minutes.
Bermuda showed great resilience in attack, breaching the Cayman defence on several occasions to stay within touching distance. However, the Cayman Islands managed to hold their nerve during the closing stages, capitalizing on key opportunities to edge ahead and take the match victory.
Despite going down in the final classification match, Bermuda's overall point tally and performance across the tournament ensured they wrapped up their campaign in sixth position.
The battle provided a fitting climax to a demanding championship, with the young Bermudian squad displaying significant promise and tactical growth against strong regional opposition.
