The Bermuda Pacers Track Club wrapped up an impressive campaign at the 2026 Russell E. Blunt East Coast Invitational, finishing the prestigious meet with 10 medals after collecting six more on the final day of competition.
The team combined gold medal performances, personal bests and a host of top-eight finishes to underline the strength of Bermuda's emerging young athletes.
Leading the way was Xander Romeo, who claimed the Boys' 13-14 Discus title with a personal best throw of 45.18 metres, securing the gold medal with the best performance of his career.
Another gold followed through Raelyn Robinson, who soared to victory in the Girls' 8 & Under Long Jump, recording 3.62 metres (11 feet, 10.5 inches) to stand atop the podium.
The Pacers also enjoyed success in the Girls' 9-10 Long Jump, where Bree Simmons earned the silver medal with a leap of 3.89 metres (12 feet, 9.25 inches). Teammates Brooke Simmons (eighth), Diamond Morris (ninth) and Giselle Reid-Rubaine (11th) all finished inside the top 11, highlighting the club's depth in the event.
In the Boys' 9-10 Long Jump, Theodore Smith narrowly missed out on a medal, finishing fourth with a best jump of 3.82 metres (12 feet, 6.5 inches).
On the track, Diamond Morris produced one of the standout performances of the day, clocking a personal best 2:45.38 to secure silver in the Girls' 9-10 800 metres.
Surii Russell also reached the podium, taking silver in the Men's 17-18 800 metres after running a personal best 1:58.50. Fellow Bermudian Tobiah Goodchild also achieved a personal best, finishing eighth in 2:06.78.
The sprint events produced several encouraging performances despite narrowly missing the medals. Robinson finished fifth in the Girls' 8 & Under 100 metres Final in 15.37, while Skye Furbert continued her impressive meet by placing sixth in the Girls' 9-10 Final with a personal best 14.27.
Nico Simmons added another medal to Bermuda's tally, claiming silver in the Boys' 9-10 100 metres in 13.26, before returning later to secure another silver in the 200 metres with a time of 27.79.
There were further personal bests from Jasmine Reid-Rubaine, who finished fifth in the Girls' 13-14 100 metres in 12.71, and Amara Samuel, who recorded personal bests in both the Girls' 15-16 100 metres (12.43) and 200 metres (25.31), finishing fourth and fifth respectively.
Jadon Lightbourne crossed the line fifth in the Boys' 13-14 100 metres in 11.89, while Russell returned to the track to place seventh in the Men's 17-18 400 metres in 51.29.
Robinson also capped an outstanding meet by finishing fourth in the Girls' 8 & Under 200 metres in 32.57, adding another top-five finish to her successful championship.
With 10 medals, numerous personal best performances and athletes consistently reaching finals and top-eight placings, the Bermuda Pacers left the Russell E. Blunt East Coast Invitational with plenty of reasons for optimism as the club's young competitors continued to impress on the international stage.
