Bermudian tennis enjoyed a lucrative week in Florida as Trey Mallory and Lee Terceira both stormed to tournament victories following an intensive week-long training camp with coach Jhonny Berrido.
Mallory sealed top spot by winning the Battle of Boca wildcard tournament, providing a major boost ahead of his upcoming regional assignments. Meanwhile, compatriot Terceira capped off a dominant trip by securing victory in a separate USTA Tournament in Boca, Florida.
The success came as part of a wider training squad in Florida, which also included Tariq Simons and Daniel Phillips.
Simons produced a solid run before bowing out in the quarter-finals of the Battle of Boca event, while Phillips focused solely on the training regimen.
The squad now shifts focus to an action-packed upcoming schedule:
CAC Games Bound: Both Mallory and Phillips have departed Florida to represent Bermuda at the Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Games.
On the Ranch: Simons and Terceira remain in Florida for a second week of intensive preparation at the tennis ranch alongside coach Berrido.
The ongoing camp holds significant long-term stakes for both remaining players. Simons is aiming to sharpen his game ahead of September, where he is pushing to secure a spot on the Bermuda Davis Cup team for their high-profile home tie against Mexico.
