Nicholas Narraway, Gabriella Arnold, and Jackson Langley took center stage on a spectacular final day of the 2026 Bermuda National Road Race Championships, with all three riders completing the coveted Time Trial and Road Race double.
The trio’s dominant performances brought a thrilling conclusion to National Championship Week, rewriting the hierarchy of island cycling over a grueling morning of racing.
In the Open Men's flagship event, Nicholas Narraway truly came of age. Having comfortably defended his National Time Trial crown just three days prior, Narraway produced a tactical masterpiece over the punishing 61.8-mile course to claim his maiden Open Men's National Road Race Championship.
An aggressive opening phase saw the peloton fractured into pieces, but it was with three laps remaining that Narraway threw down the gauntlet. Launching a devastating, explosive attack, he completely detached himself from defending champion Conor White and pre-race favorite Kaden Hopkins.
Narraway then put on a solitary exhibition at the front, riding solo across the line in a phenomenal 2 hours, 25 minutes, and 31 seconds—finishing a massive four minutes clear of his rivals. White crossed the line to salvage silver, just ticking ahead of Hopkins who took the bronze.
The Open Women’s race followed a similarly emphatic script. Gabriella Arnold proved to be in a league of her own over the 41.2-mile distance, asserting her dominance from the opening climb.
Already sporting the Time Trial gold medal from earlier in the week, Arnold controlled the tempo beautifully to stop the clock in 1:56:31. Panzy Olander fought valiantly to cross the line four minutes later for silver, while Charlotte Millington rounded out the podium with an impressive ride for bronze.
Meanwhile, the prodigiously talented Jackson Langley proved that the future of Bermuda cycling is in very safe hands. Langley successfully defended both his Junior Men's National Time Trial and Road Race titles, out-maneuvering Gianluca Bortoli and Dylan Eiselt after a cagey, highly tactical chess match on wheels.
In the Junior Women’s category, Sofia Leclerc’s meteoric rise through the local ranks reached a new peak. Leclerc rode with maturity well beyond her years to distance Naomi MacGuinness and Riana Robinson, comfortably wrapping up the 2026 Junior National title.
Photo Finish in the Masters The largest field of the day saw 16 riders line up for a chaotic, bruising four-lap Masters Men's contest. The race ended in a grandstand bunch sprint, with veteran Darren Glasford lunging at the line to snatch gold ahead of Kavin Smith and Alan Mooney, who were both credited with the exact same finishing time.
