Rangers and Warwick Crowned Champions at White Hill Field

IslandStats.com
A spectacular festival of domestic cricket at White Hill Field saw Southampton Rangers capture the Premier Division KO Cup, while Warwick Workmen's Club secured the First Division crown on a thrilling afternoon of finals action.

On a superb batting track in the west end, both showpiece matches delivered high-scoring encounters, outstanding individual performances, and clinical tactical execution.

Premier Division KO Cup Final

Southampton Rangers won by 44 Runs

Southampton Rangers 195/6 St. David’s Cricket Club 151/6

In the headline fixture of the afternoon, Southampton Rangers put on a powerhouse display of aggressive hitting to defeat heavyweights St. David’s Cricket Club by 44 runs.

Having lost the toss and been inserted to bat, the Rangers lineup dismantled the St. David's attack from the outset, racking up an imposing 195-6 from their 20 overs.

The undisputed architect of the innings was Dalin Richardson, who played a breathtaking, swashbuckling knock of 53 off just 29 balls. Richardson showcased clean striking throughout his cameo, smashing six boundaries and three massive sixes to shift the momentum permanently.

Chare Simons was the lone consistent threat for the East Enders, returning hard-earned figures of three wickets for 47 runs from his four overs, but he could do little to stem the flow of runs at the death.

Faced with a daunting run rate of nearly ten runs an over, St. David’s chase quickly ran into trouble against a heavily disciplined Rangers bowling unit led by Allan Douglas (2-31).

Despite the top-order collapse, the crowd was treated to a magnificent, lone-warrior counter-offensive from St. David's batsman Isaiah O'Brien.

O'Brien played a sensational, undefeated innings of 92 not out from 56 balls—a majestic display punctuated by nine fours and five towering sixes. However, lacking established partners at the other end, his heroics were in vain as St. David’s were restricted to 151-6, leaving the Rangers to comfortably lift the prestigious trophy.

1st Division KO Cup Final

Warwick Workmen's Club won by 26 Runs

Warwick Workmen's Club 164/9 Cleveland County 138/5

Earlier in the day, Warwick Workmen’s Club laid the foundation for an afternoon of celebrations by grinding out a hard-fought 26-run victory over Cleveland County to claim the First Division KO Cup.

After Cleveland won the toss and elected to bowl, Warwick overcame a series of mid-innings stumbles to post a highly competitive 164-9 in their allotted 20 overs. Luke Fulton anchored the performance with a gritty, team-high 35, while Cleveland’s Jermal Proctor led the bowling attack beautifully to return tidy figures of 2-27.

The second innings turned into a fascinating duel between Proctor and the experienced Warwick bowling attack.

Shifting from ball to bat, Proctor spearheaded the Cleveland reply with a fine, fighting knock of 45 to keep his side within touching distance of the required run rate.

However, Warwick's veteran international Malachi Jones delivered a masterclass in death bowling. Jones strangled the scoring opportunities through the middle overs, returning clinical figures of two wickets for 27 runs across his four overs.

Jones’ suffocating spell robbed Cleveland of their late-innings momentum, holding them to 138-5 to seal a comprehensive cup triumph for the Warwick Workmen's Club.
