The Bermuda Ball Hockey Association play-off season shifted into high gear at the PCC Hockey Rink with a high-intensity double-header that saw CG establish a dominant footing in their series against BDA Spirits. On a night where offensive clinicalness was the order of the day, CG emerged as the major victors across two very different contests to take a vital platform in the post-season race.
BDA Spirits 3 CG 4
The night's opening fixture proved to be a cagey affair as CG narrowly defeated BDA Spirits 4-3 in a match that sparkled into life during a chaotic first period. Andrew Leavy, Jeremy Estey, and Dallas Montgomery all found the target early on for CG, while Andrew Bonner provided the solitary response for the Spirits to leave them trailing after the first frame.
A resurgent BDA Spirits pushed hard in the second period as Jeff Loper narrowed the gap, only for Jeff Morash to restore CG's multi-goal lead before the second buzzer. Despite a late surge in the final period that saw Ryan Marshall find the net to set up a grandstand finish, the CG defensive unit held firm under immense pressure to secure the one-goal victory.
CG 6 BDA Spirits 3
CG wasted little time in doubling their advantage in Game Two, delivering a more comfortable 6-3 victory over BDA Spirits to put themselves in a commanding position. The foundation for the win was laid by a relentless Dallas Montgomery, who spearheaded the attack with a superb individual performance.
The match ignited in the first period as Davinder Jaggers put BDA Spirits ahead, only for Danny Hudson and Montgomery to strike back and give CG the lead. Montgomery continued his clinical form in the second frame, netting twice more alongside a strike from Nathan Kowalski. Although BDA Spirits attempted a spirited fightback through goals from Alex Larouche and Ryan Marshall, a final strike from Owen Siese ensured the result was never in doubt as CG cruised to their second win of the night.
