Cyclist Kaden Hopkins made an immediate impact on the international stage, clinching a tenth-place finish in a frantic opening stage of the Tour of Greece.
Representing the Atom 6 Bikes – Cycleur de Luxe – Auto Stroo Continental Team, Hopkins was part of a high-calibre peloton that took on the 171.6km opening leg from Ioannina to Agrinio. The stage was defined by tactical positioning as the riders navigated the lengthy route, eventually culminating in a mass sprint finish.
Hopkins demonstrated sharp competitive instincts in the closing kilometres, crossing the line in 3:26:56. In a testament to the intensity of the finale, he recorded the exact same time as the stage winner, Mathis Avondts, missing out on the podium by a mere fraction of a second.
Hopkins’ strong start in Greece continues a busy period for the island’s elite cyclists. He is currently one of three Bermudian male cyclists competing at the professional level overseas, alongside teammates Nicholas Narraway and Conor White, as they continue to fly the flag in major international tours.
