Denver Tucker made an emphatic return to competitive action, clocking two personal best times at the Hurricane Alumni Invitational in Coral Gables, Florida.
Representing St. Thomas University (FLA), the sprinter was competing for the first time since the Sun Conference Indoor Championships in February. Despite the lengthy layoff due to injury, Tucker showed no signs of rust as he took to the track at Cobb Stadium against a high-caliber field.
In the Men’s 100m, Tucker delivered an explosive performance, stopping the clock in a lifetime best of 10.67 seconds. The time earned him a credible 13th-place finish and provided an immediate marker for his outdoor season campaign.
The momentum carried directly into the 200m, where Tucker once again rewrote his own record books. Powering off the bend, he crossed the line in 21.50 seconds to secure 12th place overall—his second personal best of the meet.
The results mark a significant milestone for Tucker as he navigates his way back to full fitness. After over two months on the sidelines, his ability to produce career-best times in his first outing back suggests he will be a major threat as the Sun Conference Outdoor Season reaches its peak.
