Nicholas Narraway signaled his intent on the professional stage with a standout performance in the opening gambit of the 2026 Redlands Bicycle Classic in California.
Representing Competitive Edge Racing, Narraway secured a highly creditable 12th-place finish in the Stage One "Toyota of Redlands" Lake Perris Time Trial. The event, widely regarded as the longest-running and most prestigious invitational stage race in American cycling, attracted a world-class field to the 11.2-mile (18km) course.
In a discipline that demands absolute precision and maximum aerobic output, Narraway stopped the clock at 22:22.28, navigating the technical out-and-back route along the Lake Perris dam with significant pace. His time saw him finish just 41 seconds adrift of the stage winner, Eric Brunner of Project Echelon, who set the gold standard with a blistering 21:41.76.
The result positions Narraway as a serious contender heading into the meat of the five-day race. By finishing inside the top 15, he successfully minimized time gaps to the overall lead—a critical factor in a stage race where the General Classification (GC) is often decided by mere seconds.
The 40th edition of the "Classic" now moves into its high-intensity circuit and road race phases. Narraway, who has shown significant development in the domestic U.S. circuit over the past year, will look to utilize his strong time-trial foundation to support his team and hunt for podium opportunities in the grueling Sunset Road Race and downtown criteriums still to come.
With four days of racing remaining across the sun-drenched landscape of San Bernardino County, the Bermudian remains firmly in the hunt for a top-10 overall finish.
