Barry University men's track and field captured its first Sunshine State Conference weekly honor of the 2026 season, as Sophomore Cameron Basden was named the conference's weekly award recipient, presented by Pollo Campero, for the week of March 30 – April 5th. Basden earned the weekly award after his standout performance at the 2026 Embry-Riddle Classic.
Basden delivered an outstanding performance, etching his name into the program's record book across multiple events. The Sophomore recorded the fourth-longest jump in school history in the Men's Long Jump with a mark of 6.88 meters, while also posting a top-three all-time mark in the 100 meters with a Personal Best time of 10.63 seconds.
That time doubled as a career best, along with his performance in the 200 meters, where he clocked a Personal Best 21.55 seconds. In the 200, Basden's effort also tied the school record, capping off a remarkable showing that highlighted both his speed and versatility.
