The thunder of the boards returned to the velodrome this weekend as Full Gas Cycling hosted the highly anticipated return of Good Friday track racing, with Bermuda’s Conor White among the elite contingent taking center stage.
Retaining its prestigious UCI Class 2 status for 2026, the event drew a world-class field from across Europe, North America, and the UK. For White, the occasion held extra significance, marking his first competitive appearance since being crowned a continental champion.
Competing in the UCI Elite Men's Endurance Division, the Bermudian standout provided a first glimpse of his new Pan American Championships jersey in live action. White opened his account in the 10km Scratch Race, navigating a cagey and tactical affair to cross the line in 11th place amidst a congested pack of international specialists.
However, it was in the grueling 30km Points Race where White truly demonstrated his engine and tactical growth. In a discipline defined by sustained intensity and intermediate sprints, he fought his way to an impressive sixth-place finish, holding his own against a field stacked with Olympic and World Championship hopefuls.
Reflecting on the weekend's efforts, White took to social media to share his enthusiasm for the high-level competition.
"First outing in the new Pan American Championships jersey in the scratch race this weekend," White posted. "Some solid hard racing on the boards. Enjoying the process, learning lots with each race and gaining some valuable experience."
