Narraway shines and Claims Podium & KOM Title

Nicholas Narraway delivered a tactical masterclass in Murrieta, securing a hard-fought second place and the King of the Mountains jersey at the Tour de Murrieta in California.

In a display of grit and aggressive racing, Narraway was the primary animator throughout Stage 2 of the Open Pro 1-2 Circuit Race. From the early exchanges, the young rider made his intentions clear, consistently occupying the front of the field and dictating the tempo as the peloton struggled to contain his pace.

His relentless approach yielded immediate rewards in the intermediate sprints, where he racked up a series of "primes" before turning his attention to the climbing classification. Narraway’s strength on the inclines proved unmatched, as he mathematically secured the King of the Mountains title well before the final dash for the line.

The decisive move of the afternoon materialised in the closing stages when Narraway sparked a two-man breakaway that left the main field in its wake. Alongside Brendan Luongo of Kelly Benefits/LSV, the pair worked in perfect harmony to build a commanding lead.

As the bell rang for the final lap, the duo held a staggering advantage of one minute and 40 seconds over the chasing pack. With the podium places all but guaranteed, the focus shifted to a tactical duel for the stage win.

In a high-speed sprint to the finish, Luongo managed to edge out the Bermudian to take the top spot on the podium. Narraway crossed the line in a gallant second place, while Anthony Ferrusi of the SoCalCycling.com Team led the remnants of the field home to round out the top three.

While the stage victory narrowly eluded him, Narraway’s performance marks a significant statement of intent on the international circuit. With a podium finish and a winner’s jersey in his luggage, he leaves California as one of the standout performers of the weekend.
