Cyclist Conor White showcased his grit against the clock on the final day of The Peaks 2 Day p/b Velo Edge, securing a disciplined top 30 finish in a grueling second-stage time trial.
Representing Jakroo Handsling Racing, White faced a specialist’s test on a compact but punishing 2.9km course. The stage, which started in Holme and culminated in a demanding ascent to the iconic Holme Moss, required an explosive burst of power to navigate the significant elevation gain in a short distance.
The stage victory was claimed by Jake Edwards, who produced a masterclass in uphill time-trialling to stop the clock at a blistering 8:55. Edwards’ performance set a high bar for the field, underlining the elite level of competition present at this year’s event.
White delivered a steady effort to handle the steep gradients, crossing the line with a time of 10:04. While he finished one minute and nine seconds adrift of the stage winner, his performance was enough to comfortably secure a spot among the top 30 riders for the stage. The result marks a solid conclusion to the two-day event for the Bermudian, who continues to build his form and tactical experience within the UK domestic racing circuit.
