Ball Hockey Shines in Sixteen-Goal Thriller at PCC Rink

IslandStats.com
The PCC Hockey Rink was a hive of offensive activity as a Bermuda Ball Hockey double-header produced sixteen goals across two high-octane fixtures. Fans were treated to a showcase of clinical finishing and tactical resilience as Spine & Sport and BDA Spirits emerged victorious in their respective high-scoring encounters.

Hamilton Princess 3 Spine & Sport 4

The evening began with a see-saw battle between Hamilton Princess and Spine & Sport that was ultimately decided by the narrowest of margins.

The opening period set the tone as Curran Trenouth found the net for Spine & Sport, only for Thomas Miller to respond for the Princess to leave the teams level.

The pattern repeated in the second frame, with Mathieu Desjardins restoring the Spine & Sport lead before Miller once again dragged his side back into contention.

The decisive break came in the third period as Trenouth and Desjardins both notched their second goals of the night to establish a cushion. Despite Miller completing a magnificent hat-trick late on, Spine & Sport held firm to secure a four three victory.

Positive Image Dental 4 BDA Spirits 5

The momentum carried into the second match of the night as Positive Image Dental and BDA Spirits produced a nine-goal spectacular.

The Spirits took an early initiative in the first period through Mathieu Lorrain and Mathieu Ingelman, though Josh Prodger ensured Dental remained within striking distance.

A frantic second period saw the sides trade goals in rapid succession; Andrew Bonner and Jeff Loper netted for the Spirits, while Prodger’s second of the night and a strike from Ross Rufiange kept the scores tight heading into the final interval.

The contest remained on a knife-edge until the third period when Loper struck his second goal to provide the Spirits with the breathing room they required.

A late effort from Jordan Gunter for Positive Image Dental set up a grandstand finish, but the BDA Spirits defensive unit stood resolute to see out a five four win and cap off a relentless night of ball hockey action on the island.
