CG 3 Spine & Sport 4
The Bermuda Ball Hockey League served up a high-octane classic at the PCC Hockey Rink as Spine & Sport narrowly overcame CG in a seven-goal encounter defined by momentum shifts and clinical finishing.
The contest began as a cagey, tactical affair in the opening frame. CG found the breakthrough thanks to the predatory instincts of Danny Hudson, who provided the only goal of the first period to give his side a narrow advantage heading into the first interval.
However, the game exploded into life during the second period as Spine & Sport seized control of the proceedings. Rob Osborne emerged as the central figure of the turnaround, striking twice in quick succession to turn the deficit into a lead. The momentum stayed firmly with the chasing side when Cole Haggett added a third goal, completing a three-goal surge that stunned the CG bench. Despite the pressure, CG kept themselves within touching distance when Hudson found his second of the night to keep the scoreline tight heading into the final frame.
The drama continued in the third period as both sides searched for a decisive blow. Cole Haggett mirrored teammate Osborne’s brace by grabbing his second goal of the game, restoring a two-goal cushion for Spine & Sport. Jennifer Toope managed to pull one back for CG late in the game, ensuring a frantic finale, but Spine & Sport held firm under the mounting pressure to secure a vital 4–3 victory.
The result provides a significant boost for Spine & Sport as they look to climb the league standings, while CG will be left to rue a period of lapsed concentration that allowed the game to slip away.
