Facing a highly competitive field, the Academy delivered a statement performance that saw the girls' squad secure a second-place finish overall, while the boys' team claimed a solid fifth place.
Miles Outerbridge provided one of the standout moments of the meet in the 100 meters. Showing explosive speed out of the blocks, Outerbridge surged ahead of the pack to claim first place with a blistering time of 10.61 seconds. His victory set a high bar for the boys' team and signaled his intent for a dominant season on the track.
The girls' team owed much of their podium success to the versatility of Arima Turner, who featured prominently in the sprint events. Turner secured a hard-fought second place in the 100 meters, clocking a time of 12.17 seconds. She followed that up with another strong showing in the 200 meters, where she crossed the line in 25.66 seconds to earn a third-place finish and valuable points for the Academy.
In the middle-distance events, Amaris Munya demonstrated her tactical strength in a crowded 800-meter field. Munya maintained a steady pace through the opening lap before pushing hard in the final stretch to secure third place with a time of 2:29.00. Her performance rounded out a successful weekend for the Bermudian contingent, who look poised to play a major role in Montverde's outdoor campaign as the season progresses.
