Bermudian archer Camerin Pickering has successfully navigated the grueling qualification phase of the 2026 Lancaster Archery Classic, securing his place in the elimination rounds at the Spooky Nook Sports Complex. Competing in the prestigious Men’s Olympic Recurve Division, Pickering was one of 113 archers battling for a spot in the final brackets. At the conclusion of the 60-arrow qualification round, the 26-year-old finished in 23rd position with a solid total of 588 out of a possible 660.
The Lancaster Archery Classic is renowned for its unique "survive and advance" format, which rewards consistency over raw score. Unlike traditional international tournaments, the Classic utilizes an NCAA-style bracket system for its head-to-head matches.
By finishing in the top 32, Pickering has guaranteed his spot in Saturday’s high-stakes knockout phase. He is now scheduled to face Vickram Rampersad of the United States, who qualified in 10th position, in the 1/16 elimination round.
The event, hosted at the massive 700,000-square-foot Spooky Nook facility, has attracted over 3,000 archers from around the world to compete for a prize pool exceeding $300,000.
For Pickering, this performance continues a strong run of international form following his appearance at the World Archery Championships in South Korea late last year. As the qualifying rounds conclude, the focus now shifts to the tactical, one-on-one battles where one arrow can make the difference between a podium finish and a trip home.
