Alexandra Mosher 1 BDA Spirits 2
BDA Spirits boosted their standing in the Bermuda Ball Hockey Winter League with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Alexandra Mosher at the PCC Hockey Rink.
In a fixture rescheduled from earlier in the season, the fifth-placed Spirits showcased defensive resilience to overcome a third-placed Mosher side that had been enjoying a strong run of form in the title race.
The match ignited in a fast-paced opening period as both sides looked to establish early control. BDA Spirits struck first when Ryan Marshall found the back of the net, continuing his reliable scoring form for the club. However, Alexandra Mosher were quick to respond, with Shannon Gosse clinical in front of goal to level the scores before the first interval.
The second period proved to be a tactical stalemate, defined more by elite goaltending and disciplined defensive structures than offensive fireworks. Both teams struggled to find clear-cut opportunities in a scoreless frame, setting the stage for a high-stakes final period.
The breakthrough eventually came in the third period courtesy of Nathan Ische. The Spirits forward managed to break the deadlock with what proved to be the winning goal, as the BDA Spirits backline successfully repelled a late Mosher onslaught to secure all three points.
The result marks a vital defensive turnaround for the Spirits, who have faced a challenging start to the new year. While Alexandra Mosher remain firmly in the chasing pack behind league leaders Positive Image Dental, this setback prevents them from closing the gap on the top two.
