Norre Robinson made his first competitive appearance for Louisiana Tech this weekend as he took to the track at the prestigious Arkansas Invitational.
Competing at the world-renowned Randal Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville—a venue famed for its high-speed 200m banked track—Robinson lined up in a stacked field for the Men’s 60m Dash.
The debutant held his own in a high-caliber collegiate environment, clocking a time of 7.04 seconds. The performance earned him a 32nd-place finish overall in a sprint discipline that traditionally sees the thinnest of margins separating the pack.
The Arkansas Invitational is widely regarded as one of the premier early-season meets on the US indoor circuit, often serving as a barometer for the NCAA season ahead. For Robinson, the move to the Louisiana Tech program marks a significant step in his sprinting career.
While 7.04 seconds is a solid baseline for an indoor opener, the competition was fierce. The Randal Tyson Track Center is known for producing some of the fastest times in the world due to its specialized banked turns, providing Robinson with an elite platform to test his explosive power out of the blocks.
Robinson will now look to build on this experience as the Bulldogs' indoor season gathers momentum, with eyes firmly set on shaving hundredths off that time in the coming weeks.
