 Bermudian sprinter Sanaa Morris continued her senior indoor season for Howard University this weekend as she faced a competitive field at the 2026 Penn Select meet.
Competing at the Jane and David Ott Center in Philadelphia, Morris featured in both the short sprint and middle-distance events as the Bison tested themselves against elite regional programs.
In the opening session of the day, Morris lined up in the first heat of the women's 60 meters. She crossed the line in seventh place with a time of 8.04 seconds, a performance that placed her 29th overall in a crowded field of sprinters.
Morris saw a stronger showing as she stepped up to the 400 meters later in the afternoon. Running in the second heat, the former Warwick Academy student battled for the lead throughout the two laps, eventually securing second place in her section. Her time of 58.22 seconds earned her 14th place in the overall standings, providing a solid foundation as Howard moves toward the heart of their conference schedule.
The meet serves as a vital preparation for the upcoming MEAC Championships, where Howard will look to use the depth shown in Philadelphia to challenge for the podium. Morris and her teammates are scheduled to return to action next week as they continue their journey toward the indoor postseason.
