David Bascome Head Coach of the Baltimore Blast suffered a narrow 3-2 defeat on the road against the Tacoma Stars, with two power play goals proving critical in the Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) contest.
Neither side managed to find the back of the net during a cautious first period. However, the Blast took the lead in the second quarter when Wellington Bramusse broke the deadlock. Baltimore carried that 1-0 advantage into the halftime break.
The momentum shifted in the third period when Tacoma pulled level. Eddie Na scored a Power Play goal to make the score 1-1, capitalising on a man advantage.
The fourth period continued the drama. Tacoma took the lead when Jamael Cox scored his team’s second Power Play goal of the night, giving the Stars a 2-1 lead.
The Blast responded quickly, with Jairo Guevara finding the back of the net to level the match again at 2-2. However, Tacoma had the final say when Micheal Ramos scored what proved to be the winning goal, securing the 3-2 victory for the home side.
Head Coach Bascome, a former North Village and Bermuda winger, will look for his team to regroup quickly as they aim to avoid giving up further crucial power play goals in their upcoming fixtures.
