It was a day packed with goals and drama across the Bermuda football leagues, with a comprehensive victory in the First Division and an early Premier Division upset.
FIRST DIVISION
Hamilton Parish 0 Vasco 6
In the most dominant performance of the weekend, Vasco hammered Hamilton Parish 6-0 at the Wellington Oval.
Kevin Arruda opened the scoring in the 17th minute, before Lucus Da Silva doubled the lead in the 27th minute. The goals continued after the break with Milton Carreiro in the 50th minute, Ludgero Araujo in the 52nd minute, and Kyshon Burgess in the 76th minute all scoring. Da Silva completed the rout with his second goal in the 80th minute.
Wolves 1 Southampton Rangers 4
Southampton Rangers remained undefeated in the First Division with a convincing 4-1 victory over Wolves at Bernard Park.
After Jahni Bean gave the Rangers the lead in the 14th minute, Wolves briefly drew level through Antonio Wade in the 25th minute. However, the Rangers pulled away in the second half with goals from Ellington Weldon in the 55th minute, Dominique Hill in the 63rd minute, and Donte Brangman on full time to seal the three points.
Somerset Eagles 1 Somerset Trojans 3
The Somerset Trojans defeated their local rivals Somerset Eagles 3-1 at the White Hill Field. Jaire Shields gave the Trojans a 1-0 lead at the half in the 40th minute.
While Zico Saltus Seymour quickly equalised for the Eagles in the 47th minute, the Trojans secured the win with goals from Kee Zai Cann in the 67th minute and Jadan Ratteray Smith 74th minute.
PREMIER DIVISION
St. George's Colts 1 Paget Lions 2
The Paget Lions roared to their first league win of the season, picking up a crucial 2-1 victory away to the St. George's Colts at the Wellington Oval.
The Lions secured their win thanks to single strikes from Diaje Hart and Antinori Butterfield. Jahron Dickinson scored the lone goal for the Colts, who will be disappointed to lose their home fixture.
North Village Rams 1 X-Road's 1
Defending Premier Division champions North Village Rams were held to a 1-1 draw by second-placed X-Road’s at Bernard Park.
Jonte Smith gave the Rams the lead in the 24th minute, which they held until half-time. Kahmori Brangman levelled for X-Road’s in the 70th minute, leaving both teams to search in vain for a winner.
Devonshire Colts 3 Devonshire Cougars 2
The Devonshire Colts won a thrilling, high-scoring affair against local rivals Devonshire Cougars, edging the match 3-2 at the Police Field.
The Cougars struck first through Llineiko Millett in the 17th minute. However, the game turned when the Cougars were reduced to 10 men in the 38th minute. Daniel Ball quickly levelled for the Colts in the 40th minute, before Elisha Darrell scored against his former club a minute into stoppage time to make it 2-1 at the break.
The Cougars looked to have snatched a point late on when Mosiais Mills scored in the 86th minute, but Jorj Dublin had the final say, netting the winner for the Colts just three minutes later.
Boulevard Blazers 2 Young Men Social Club 2
The Boulevard Blazers and Young Men Social Club, both searching for their first win, played out a 2-2 draw at the Devonshire Recreation Club.
After Clay Darrell put Social Club ahead in the 23rd minute, the Blazers turned the game around in the second half through goals from Shaquille Dill in the 50th minute and Nico Smith in the 77th minute. However, an unfortunate late Boulevard Blazers own goal in stoppage time meant the points were shared.
