The Bermuda Bicycle Association (BBA) is preparing to field a formidable squad at the 2025 Caribbean Elite Road Cycling Championships in Belize, looking to build on a record-breaking medal haul from the previous year.
Scheduled to run from October 9th to 13th, the championships in Belize City and Burrell Boom will see Bermuda rely on a mix of reigning champions and proven medal winners to secure crucial qualifying spots for the 2026 Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Games.
Time Trial Specialists Lead the Way
Bermuda's four-person team is packed with quality, particularly in the Individual Time Trial discipline, where the island has established regional dominance.
The team is spearheaded by Conor White, who arrives in Belize as the reigning Caribbean Time Trial Champion, having successfully claimed gold at the 2024 event in Guyana. He is joined by Kaden Hopkins, his fierce domestic rival and the 2024 Elite Time Trial silver medallist, cementing Bermuda's reputation as the region's powerhouse against the clock.
Adding to the men's strength is Nic Narraway, the current Bermuda National Time Trial Champion. Narraway brings his own pedigree, having earned a silver medal in the Under-23 Time Trial category last year before making the step up to the Elite ranks.
In the women's event, Gabriella Arnold will look to repeat her stellar performance from 2024, where she secured two silver medals—one in the Women’s Time Trial and another in the Road Race—confirming her place among the Caribbean elite.
The squad will be managed by BBA President Peter Dunne, with technical and race-day support provided by Darren Glasford.
Momentum from Five-Medal Haul
Bermuda’s confidence stems from its outstanding performance at the 2024 Championships in Guyana, where the team secured a remarkable five medals:
Conor White: Elite Men’s Time Trial Gold Kaden Hopkins: Elite Men’s Time Trial Silver Nic Narraway: U23 Men’s Time Trial Silver Gabriella Arnold: Elite Women’s Time Trial Silver Gabriella Arnold: Elite Women’s Road Race Silver
The events around Belize City will test the riders’ endurance with a combination of rolling terrain and tropical heat, with the results being key in the push for qualification to the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games.
