Cyclist Conor White continued his ambitious transition from road to track, competing for only the second time on the velodrome at the prestigious 3 Days of Aigle event, held at the World Cycling Center—a facility known for developing elite Swiss and European talent.
The event provided a demanding test for White, who has only recently taken up the discipline with a long-term goal of becoming Bermuda's first track cyclist at the Olympic Games.
White faced steep competition across the Men Elite category, which saw him battling against established track specialists. He struggled to complete two of the demanding endurance races:
Men Elite Scratch Race: White unfortunately did not finish (DNF) the event. Men Elite Omnium Race: White again recorded a DNF in the multi-discipline event, underscoring the tough physical and technical jump required to succeed in top-tier track cycling.
Despite the setbacks in the endurance events, White showed his competitive spirit in the Men Elite Points Race, where he managed to cross the line, finishing in a respectable 15th place.
The event marks another crucial step in White’s learning curve. While the DNFs highlight the immediate challenge of the elite track circuit, the experience gained at a world-class facility like the World Cycling Center is invaluable as he continues to build his foundation in the highly technical discipline.
