The Bermuda Football Association (BFA) has been forced to postpone another fixture as a key venue, the BAA Field, has been closed until further notice due to sub-standard pitch conditions.
The Premier Division match between Boulevard Blazers and Devonshire Cougars, which was scheduled for Saturday, September 27th, has been called off. A new date for the fixture will be announced by the BFA's Competitions Committee in due course.
The closure of the BAA Field—also known as Goose Gosling Field—is a significant disruption to the league, affecting four clubs who rely on the venue as their home ground or a regular playing field: the Boulevard Blazers, Dandy Town Hornets, Robin Hood, and Vasco.
The Bermuda Football Association stated that matches will only be allowed to resume at the facility once necessary repairs have been performed and the playing surface has been officially inspected and approved by the governing body. This unforeseen closure adds an immediate logistical challenge to the start of the domestic football calendar.
