A Dudley Eve Group A double-header at the PHC Stadium delivered two closely fought matches, with Dandy Town Hornets and North Village Rams both securing vital wins.
Boulevard Blazers 1 Dandy Town Hornets 3
In the opening match, Dandy Town Hornets claimed a decisive 3-1 victory over Boulevard Blazers. Zais Smith broke the deadlock in the 18th minute, giving the Hornets a 1-0 lead to take into the break.
The Hornets wasted no time in the second half, with David Jones Jr. doubling their advantage just a minute after the restart.
Boulevard Blazers responded in the 59th minute when Ijahmon Mallory converted from the penalty spot to halve the deficit. However, any hopes of a comeback were short-lived as Jahkari Furbert restored Dandy Town's two-goal cushion in the 64th minute, securing the 3-1 win.
North Village Rams 2 Paget Lions 1
The nightcap saw North Village Rams edge out Paget Lions in a tense 2-1 encounter. The Rams took a 1-0 lead into halftime thanks to an own goal in the 33rd minute.
Paget Lions drew level just four minutes into the second half when Diaje Hart successfully converted a penalty. With the game seemingly heading for a draw, Jalen Harvey became the hero for North Village, scoring the winner in the 89th minute to snatch all three points.
BDA Dudley Eve Update
The Bermuda Football Association (BFA) has also issued a significant update regarding the competition. The BFA confirmed that Boulevard Blazers have forfeited their match against Paget Football Club from September 6th due to fielding an ineligible player.
A statement from the BFA said, "At the time the player in question was not a properly registered player with Boulevard Blazers in accordance with the registration protocols of the Association."
As a result of the violation, Paget Football Club has been awarded the three points from the match in accordance with the Association's Disciplinary Code.
