Bermudian rugby player Jamin Hodgkins put in a standout performance for the Pacific Pride Academy, scoring 16 points in a thrilling 43-36 defeat to the University of Victoria at the U Of Victoria- Wallace Field.
The British Columbia Men’s Premier League match was a game of two halves. The Pride looked set for a blowout victory after a dominant first half saw them lead 31-12 at the break. However, a spirited comeback from the University of Victoria side saw them surge back, winning the second half 31-5 to clinch a dramatic victory.
Hodgkins was at the centre of the action for his team, contributing a try, four conversions, and a penalty to his personal tally.
Despite the loss, the Pacific Pride side will take some solace in securing two bonus points from the match. The young University of Victoria team, led by composed number 10 Michael Oughtred, were awarded five points for their impressive home victory.
