James Schurman secured overall victory at the Green Mountain Stage Race after a compelling final day at the Canaan Criterium, where both Kaden Hopkins and Nic Narraway demonstrated they belonged in the thick of the action in the Men’s Pro/1/2 division.
Stage Four was won by José Alfredo Rodríguez Victoria, with the leading group clocked at 45:50. Hopkins and Narraway finished on the same time as the stage winner, Hopkins crossing the line sixth and Narraway 31st, confirming both riders remained part of the main bunch in the decisive finale.
Schurman’s consistent riding across the event earned him the overall title with a combined time of 7:50:19. Narraway completed the race in 12th place overall, recording 7:52:02 and finishing 1 minute 43 seconds behind Schurman. Hopkins closed out the event 16th overall with a total of 7:52:40, 2 minutes 21 seconds adrift of the winner.
The final criterium provided a fast, high-pressure conclusion to a multi-stage weekend in New England, and both Hopkins and Narraway leave having shown they can contest the finishes in a competitive Pro/1/2 field. Schurman’s winning margin reflects steady performances across all stages and a well-timed effort to claim the Green Mountain title.
With the GMSR concluded, attention will now turn to the next events on the North American calendar where riders will look to build on the form shown in Canaan.
