Bermudian Cricketers Fall Short in New Jersey Thriller

IslandStats.com
New Jersey 133 Bermuda 126

www.islandstats.com will provide coverage of the Bermuda New Jersey Annual International Cricket Match.

Bermuda's cricketers have fallen just short in a thrilling encounter against New Jersey, losing by seven runs after a hard-fought match. The Bermudian team, led by a superb bowling performance from Kyle Hodsoll, was unable to chase down the target set by New Jersey, despite a valiant effort from Lionel Cann.

New Jersey won the toss and elected to bat, but they were met with a relentless Bermudian bowling attack. Hodsoll was the star of the show, delivering a devastating spell to claim five wickets for just 23 runs from his six overs, his second five-wicket haul of the year. The New Jersey innings was anchored by A Karim, who top-scored with 30, but they were eventually bowled out for a total of 133.

In reply, Bermuda struggled to find momentum against a disciplined New Jersey attack. Lionel Cann was the top scorer for Bermuda with 40, but he lacked significant support from his teammates. New Jersey's Knight was the pick of the bowlers, returning figures of 2 for 15 from six overs, which proved crucial in restricting the Bermudian chase.

Bermuda was eventually bowled out for 126, falling just seven runs short of the target. The result will be a difficult one to swallow for the team, which showed great spirit but was unable to cross the finish line.
