Kenni Thompson’s getting back into the swing of things and a new change for the season
Forward Kenni Thompson has had an emphatic start to the season; providing the winning assist in last Sunday's win against Hashtag United, changing to a meaningful number and growing ever closer to her teammates.
Speaking to afcb.co.uk, Thompson said: "We've been working really hard in training recently, we've needed to sort a few things out.
"Obviously, we've got our new manager who has come in so we've had little time to iron things out, but everyone has put in a lot of work, they've all put in a shift to put out the best performance we can, and we've done that."
A new number graces the back of Thompson's shirt this season, after donning the number 25 in 2024/25.
"Yeah, I now wear the number seven - I needed a little bit of a change I think but it's a number I've worn in the past at a really great club.
"It means a lot to me so I'm very happy with it."
Looking ahead to the next few weeks, and their next fixture at home to Exeter City on Sunday, Thompson tells us what the plans are for the week ahead.
"We work hard, we recover well, we do everything we can to get ourselves to a good place and put out the best performance we can."
