It was a busy day for Bermuda’s footballers in England, with notable performances and a hat-trick hero across multiple leagues, led by a goalkeeping masterclass in the EFL.
Nathan Trott was the star of the show as his Cardiff City side secured a 1-0 victory over Nahki Wells' Luton Town in an EFL League One clash. Making his return from injury, Wells had several opportunities to score but was repeatedly denied by his compatriot. Trott was described as "breathtakingly brilliant" on BBC Radio 5 Live for a string of superb saves that ensured the win and a clean sheet. Wells was substituted in the 58th minute.
Elsewhere in the Southern League Premier Central, Reggie Lambe and his Needham Market teammates secured a convincing 3-0 win against Bromsgrove Sporting.
In Isthmian Football League action, Coolridge Fubler, Aunde Todd, and Brighton Morrison all featured for Binfield FC, who came away with a hard-fought 2-1 victory against Southall at the SkyEx Community Stadium.
Meanwhile, Ayleal Dill was the standout performer of the day, scoring a sensational hat-trick for Southwell City FC in their First Round Qualifying Isuzu FA Vase Trophy match against Leicester Nirvana FC. Dill's first goal came after 18 minutes, as he rounded the keeper before lobbing a defender with a great finish. He put his team back in front in the 55th minute from a cross, and five minutes later, he completed his hat-trick by winning and converting a penalty.
In other results, Justin Donawa was an unused substitute as his Brackley Town FC teammates secured a 2-1 victory over Rochdale AFC. Roger Lee and his Heanor Town teammates also won 2-1 on the road against Ashby Ivanhoe, while Milan Butterfield's Halesowen Town shared the points in a 1-1 draw with Stamford AFC.
Finally, a last-minute winner saw Keziah Martin and Deniche Hill and their Buxton teammates claim all three points against AFC Telford United.
