Challengers Cleveland County have announced their team for this Saturday's Eastern County Cup second round clash against cup holders Bailey's Bay at Lord's. The match, a highlight of the local cricket calendar, is scheduled to get underway at 10 am.
Cleveland County will be led by captain Mackih McGowan, and the team is bolstered by a host of players with valuable Cup Match experience. Vice-captain Steven Bremar Jr. and the versatile Dion Stovell, who is reliable with both bat and ball, bring experience from their time with Somerset. Meanwhile, captain McGowan, along with Jason Anderson, Treadwell Gibbons Jr., Allan Douglas Jr., and Damali Bell, have all played for St. George's.
The team features several changes from the side selected last year. Q’Shai Darrell moves to a reserve spot, while Zeri Tomlinson is unavailable due to international duty and Tamauri Tucker was not selected. They are replaced by the experience of Anderson, Bell, and Clay Darrell.
Cleveland County's selection of a squad with such a wealth of big-match experience signals their intent to challenge the reigning champions for the historic trophy.
