Carabao Cup Action
Nathan Trott and Cardiff City advanced in the Carabao Cup after a 2-1 victory over Swindon Town Football Club. Trott, who started for his team, conceded his first goal in Cardiff City colours but ultimately saw his side progress.
Meanwhile, Nahki Wells and Luton Town bowed out of the competition after a 1-0 defeat to Coventry. Wells, who started the match, was part of a completely changed side as manager Matt Bloomfield made 11 changes to the team that had beaten Peterborough on Saturday.
League and Cup Competitions
In other action, Reggie Lambe and his Needham Market teammates picked up their first point of the season with a goalless draw against Real Bedford. Kane Crichlow's Sutton United had a difficult day, falling to a 7-0 defeat to Fulham Academy.
Harry Twite and Loughborough Student FC were defeated 2-1 by Belper Town FC, while Aunde Todd and his Binfield FC teammates went down 3-1 to Ascot United FC in their Isthmian League South-Central match.
In cup action, Justin Donawa and Brackley Town FC secured an opening 2-0 victory against the Blackburn Rovers U21 team in the National League Cup. In another positive result, Roger Lee and his Heanor Town teammates defeated Clay Cross Town FC 4-1 at the Boston Brewery Ground.
