Fighter Krista Dyer has missed out on a Bronze Medal at the 2025 World Games, after a hard-fought contest against Menaalla Aly of Egypt in the Women’s San da 70kg Division.
Dyer, representing the Bermuda Sanshou Association, was defeated on points but spoke to www.islandstats.com about her performance. "There were things I was able to do that I am proud of," she said. "But when you are fighting quality opposition, they will capitalize on some areas where I struggle."
Following the competition, Dyer is set to continue her training and development. She will spend a week working with Coach Wu, a former 60kg Sanda World Champion. Wu's title came in 2011, the same year that Bermuda's Jermal Woolridge won a bronze medal, marking the island's first-ever World Championships medal in the sport. The training with an elite-level coach is a testament to Dyer's commitment to improving and competing at the highest level.
