Weekend Cricket Top Performers with Bat and Ball

IslandStats.com
With a packed weekend of cricket across the island, from the Under-19 World Cup Qualifiers in Atlanta to local club matches, several players put in standout performances with both bat and ball. Here's a look at the top individual efforts.

Batting Highlights

Jonte Smith of St. George's Cricket Club was the weekend's highest scorer, hitting a fantastic 92 runs in his team's victory over Bailey's Bay. His aggressive innings, which included six fours and seven sixes, was the cornerstone of St. George's formidable total.

Charles Trott of PHC also had a stellar outing with the bat, scoring an impressive 78 runs in his team's win against Willow Cuts. In the East Select's win over the Western County All-Stars, Drewonde Bascome contributed a strong 77 runs to his team's total.

Bowling Prowess

St. David's Cricket Club's Kevon Fubler delivered the bowling performance of the weekend. In his team's victory over Flatt's Victoria, Fubler was virtually unplayable, finishing with incredible figures of 6 wickets for just 21 runs from eight overs.

Zaki Gibbons-Deshields, also from St. David's Cricket Club, recorded the second-best figures of the weekend in the Junior Eastern County competition. He claimed 5 wickets for only 9 runs from eight overs.

Finally, in the Under-19 World Cup Qualifiers, Sa-Qui Robinson was the third-best bowler of the weekend. Representing Bermuda's U-19 team, he bowled a superb spell against Argentina, taking 5 wickets for just 13 runs from ten overs.
