Bermudian middle-distance runner Nirobi Smith Mills has secured a superb second-place finish and a new Personal Best in his final race before the Junior Pan Am Games.
Competing in the Men's 800m B Final at the British Milers Club (BMC) Trafford Grand Prix in Manchester, Smith Mills crossed the line in a time of 1:47.67.
The impressive run saw him finish just behind the winner, Ryan Elston, who was clocked at 1:47.17. Smith Mills' performance is a significant boost as he prepares to represent Bermuda on the international stage at the Junior Pan Am Games in Asunción, Paraguay.
The Bermudian athlete is one of a number of competitors heading to Paraguay to take part in the multi-sport event. His strong result in Manchester is a testament to his hard work and preparation for the Games.
