Junior Pan Am Games Day One

The competition for the Junior Pan Am Games got underway in Paraguay.

Day One has Bermuda athletes competing in two sports, Aquatics and Archery.

Aquatics Preliminaries

In the Men's 100m Breaststroke, Elijah Daley finished sixth in Heat 3 with a time of 1:05.55. His time placed him 17th overall, just five-hundredths of a second shy of the final qualification spot.
Sam Williamson, competing in Heat 2 of the same event, finished seventh with a time of 1:07.23, placing him 20th overall.
Daley also took to the pool for the Men’s 200m Butterfly. He recorded a time of 2:15.91 in Heat 1, which was the fifth-fastest time in his heat but placed him 17th overall. Daley was given the opportunity to compete in the Men’s 200 Butterfly B Final after one of the other competitors scratched. Daley placed 5th in the B Final with a time of 2:07:46 as he finished 13th overall.

Archery

Bermuda's archers put in a solid performance in their ranking rounds, setting them up for the knockout stages.

In the Men's Recurve Individual Division, Jaydon Roberts finished 16th with a score of 599.
In the Women's Recurve Individual Division, Robin Selley finished ninth with a score of 597.
The duo then teamed up for the Mixed Recurve Team event, where their combined score of 1196 was good enough for a seventh-place finish.
