Bermuda's Paralympian Jessica Lewis has spoken about her successful campaign at the Canadian Track & Field Championships in Ottawa, where she secured a total of three medals.
Lewis, who won Gold in the 100m and 200m Wheelchair events and a silver in the 400m, expressed her gratitude to the Canadian Track & Field Association for the opportunity to compete.
She also highlighted the special dynamic of racing against her training partner and rival, Nandini Sharma. Despite competing in different classifications, the two athletes faced off in all three events, pushing each other to the limit. Lewis ultimately took the top spot on the podium in the two shorter sprint events, while Sharma claimed victory in the 400m.
Lewis praised the healthy rivalry, which she believes played a key role in her strong performances. The championships provided a valuable platform for both athletes to sharpen their skills and test themselves ahead of future international competitions.
