In the tournament opener, the Bermuda Brazilian Football School Select secured a solid 2-0 victory over the National Academy Under 17 Select.
The Brazilian Football School took the lead in the 36th minute through Xave Smith. They doubled their advantage in the second half when Jahzion Taylor found the back of the net in the 60th minute, sealing a comfortable win and a clean sheet to start their campaign.
Everton FC 6 National Academy Under 15 Select 0
Following the first match, Everton FC, lined up against the National Academy Under 15 Select. The Premier League giants demonstrated their class with a commanding 6-0 victory.
Everton got off to a blistering start. Ray Robert opened the scoring in the 4th minute and quickly doubled his tally in the 12th. Just three minutes later, Malik Olayiwola made it 3-0. Jonathan Nsangou then added two more goals in the 21st and 34th minutes, sending Everton into the break with a dominant 5-0 lead.
The National Academy Under 15 Select regrouped effectively at halftime, showing resilience to restrict Everton to just one goal in the second half, scored by Jake Doughty in the 58th minute.
The opening day of the Bermuda Triangle Cup provided plenty of excitement and a valuable experience for the young Bermudian academy sides against strong international and local opposition.
