The five young sailors representing Bermuda continued their campaign today at the 2025 Optimist World Championship in Portorož, Slovenia. Day Three of the prestigious event, featuring a vast fleet of 281 sailors from around the globe, saw only one race successfully completed, bringing the series total to five races.

Thomas McBain continues to lead the Bermudian contingent, showing a promising rise in the overall standings. He is currently sitting in 145th place overall with 123 net points, moving up 15 places from his initial 160th position. He recorded his best finish of the Regatta thus far in the day's single race, crossing the line in a strong 13th place.

Jesse Savage also staged an uprising on the leaderboard, starting the day in 188th and coming off the water in 179th place with 151 net points, demonstrating his consistency.

Harry Brown ended the day in 222nd place with 190 net points, while Heath Meyers is currently in 226th place with 199 net points. Rounding out the Bermudian team's standings is Emma Brown, who holds the 231st spot with 203 net points.

The Optimist World Championship is renowned as a proving ground for future sailing stars, and Bermuda's young team will be looking to build on their performances as the regatta continues over the coming days in Slovenia. The experience gained in this highly competitive international fleet will be invaluable for their long-term development.
