Bermuda U15 Boys to Compete in Concacaf Championship

IslandStats.com
The Confederation of North, Central American, and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) has announced the hosts and format for the 2025 CONCACAF Boys' Under 15 Championship, with Aruba, Costa Rica, and Curaçao selected to stage the tournament.

The fifth edition of the championship will take place from August 2nd to 10th, 2025, and will feature a group stage followed by a direct elimination knockout phase across three distinct Leagues.

CONCACAF General Secretary Philippe Moggio highlighted the importance of the tournament for youth development, stating, “This tournament plays a crucial role in the development of the region’s youngest talent, providing them with invaluable international experience early in their careers and supporting their growth both on and off the field.”

A significant number of CONCACAF Member Associations have expressed their interest in participating, with 39 nations, including Bermuda, confirming their intent. The participating Member Associations span the Caribbean, Central America, and North America.

The tournament's matches will be geographically distributed, with League A matches taking place in Costa Rica, League B in Aruba, and League C in Curaçao. Bermuda's placement in one of these leagues will be determined based on the CONCACAF Men’s U-17 Rankings and the final number of participating teams.

Each of the three leagues will follow the same format: a group stage followed by a single-elimination knockout round, ultimately crowning a champion in each league.

In an interesting development, as part of CONCACAF’s memorandum of understanding with the Asian Football Confederation and partnership with the Saudi Arabian Football Association, Saudi Arabia's Under 15 national team will also participate in this year’s championship.

Further details regarding the tournament, including group draws and match schedules, are expected to be released by CONCACAF in the coming weeks. Bermuda's young footballers will be eager to learn their opponents as they prepare for this significant regional competition.
